60th anniversary of the establishment of the Aerosol Association of Australia

Over the past 60 years, the Association has been proud to promote the versatility of the aerosol package and encourage innovation in the Australian aerosol industry.

In 1994, as part of the Association’s 30th birthday celebrations, the ‘Australian Aerosol Design Awards’ were born, culminating in a gala awards night on 22 June 1994 in the Grand Ballroom of Sydney’s Sheraton Wentworth Hotel. Launching the Awards in 1994, then Association President, Lindsay Showyin, said: “Our industry has so much to be proud of … and yet we have never publicly paid tribute to those whose contributions have been significant to the industry and its products ... We will tonight begin to correct that sin of omission.”

Guest Presenter, Professor Veena Sahajwalla, will be talking on the evening of 18 April 2024 as the Association celebrates the 30th anniversary of that first awards event - and the 60th anniversary of its establishment- with a lavish Gala Dinner at 'View by Sydney' in Walsh Bay.

There will be an impressive line-up of international speakers from the UK, Europe (Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic), the US and Japan who will join local speakers to address the Forum theme of ‘designing a better future’.

Topics covered will include recycling and EPR, product misuse, VOCs, the new EU f-gases regulations, indoor air, new filling technology and how industry associations around the world are addressing these new challenges.
